COOKING SCHOOLS IN MONTEPULCIANO

One of the best things about a stay is discovering new flavours and customs, new stories, making new encounters. Food is undoubtedly an excellent means of knowledge, especially in Italy because of its great variety and diversity. I therefore propose four ways for you to discover the typical cuisine of Montepulciano through the special people who are part of its social fabric, an area characterised by a strong cultural, agricultural, food and wine tradition, and politics, but at the same time, in constant change; today it is a beautiful multi-ethnic and multi-cultural community identity. I have the pleasure of introducing you (strictly in alphabetical order) to Giacomo, Lilian, Nicolò and Pamela, well-known and esteemed chefs from Montepulciano. With them you will enjoy discovering the variety of typical products of this area and I am sure that getting to know them, talking to them, will be a very pleasant experience.

GIACOMO MARTINELLI

In his restaurant (Agriturismo Le Gaggiole, immersed in the beautiful landscape at the gates of the Val di Chiana), you can discover the beauty of making pasta by kneading flour, water. oil, talking about the countryside, the family stories of the land and the generations that have inhabited it, to eat all together what you have created in his private restaurant (lessons in Italian and English)

NICOLÃ’ DUCHINI

Nicolò is a young 'chef a domicilio', if called upon he will come and prepare dinner in your flat and serve you, explaining all the secrets of a good dish. His menus range from the more traditional ones, taught by his grandmother, to the more experimental ones. Nicolò is part of that beautiful new generation that after their studies has chosen to stay or return to Montepulciano, enriching the area with new life. (Dinner at home in Italian and English)

PAMELA SHELDON JOHNS

Pamela is a beautiful and kind American lady who for almost thirty years has run, together with her husband, the Agriturismo Poggio Etrusco located a few kilometres from Montepulciano in the Sant'Albino countryside. Author of numerous books on typical Italian products Pamela is a cultural bridge between America (and English-speaking countries in general) and Italy. With her you can gain a deeper understanding of the various traditions, tastes, products and curiosities. Pamela is part of a centuries-old tradition of foreigners (mainly British and American, but also Northern European) who have decided to live in Italy, a country that is undoubtedly imperfect but rich... in everything. Pamela speaks perfect Italian.
